01413 Rolex

There's a magic to the Datejust's simple design, a timelessness that embraces the wrist with its thin and tapering 36mm case that wears equally well on a ladies and on a men’s wrist. With perfect proportions, a robust automatic movement and rich history, the Rolex Datejust may simply be the most versatile and wearable watch ever designed.

The original Datejust, in production continuously since 1945, was designed for everyday wear, featuring an unmistakable fluted white gold bezel and a new bracelet design named the "Jubilee" and was the world's first wristwatch to incorporate a date function at 3 o’clock. The present Reference 1601 is probably the most classic iteration of the famous Datejust. Cased in 36mm stainless steel, with a fluted white gold bezel that shimmers as it catches the light and a lovely sunburst dial it has survived in incredible condition since 1970. The "pie-pan" dial, too, is preserved extraordinarily well, as all the luminous plots are present and fully intact.

The beauty of the Datejust is equal parts sporty and dressy and wears just as well with jeans as it does with a suit — perhaps the most recognizable model in the Rolex pantheon.
